Neil’s Chalkboard E30

More often times than not, something so simple, can be so brilliant.
Like, just waking up early enough to be able to see the sunrise – natural beauty can overlooked.
I believe that those sorts of things need to be celebrated more.
How can showy props and gimmicks be our usual focus when the simple are being ignored?
Well, today is not one of those days. Today, i am showing my appreciation for the once ignored.

For Neil, it all began with a tattered, $400 E30 shell, and restoring it from the ground up.

With a little love, it has transformed. At a time, left for dead.
Now, back from the grave, it was given a second chance at life.

“I’d like to think of it as my little project car. Something to take to meets, take to auto-x on the weekends, etc. There’s nothing extravagant about it.”

A lot of time and attention has gone into building this E30, but according to Neil, “There is more work to be done.”

Other than the chalkboard paint, this car is very simple and classic. Also, its about as stock as it gets.
Nothing too shiny or fancy and the mod list is very humble, yet effective when executed so well.

Rolling on 16×8″ et23 E38 style 5′s and 205/45 tires. Just a slight touch of an extra 10mm spaced out all around.

Completely putting a car back together isn’t a simple or overnight task as you might imagine.
Something many of us have done for a car we had a passion for. Working those long days and nights.
Putting whatever time we could spare into transforming our projects to be a display of our personality and
depending on the person - it can show off or creative or sinister sides.
“Two years ago I wouldn’t have thought that it would be where it is today.
I’d like to believe we’ve made something from nothing.
Not only for my enjoyment but for everyone in real life and online that has been a part of it-
everyone who’s been a part of the build and the designs.”

The only thing needed to get this aggressive and very functional stance today is a set of Ground Control coilovers.
Its not rocket science. Lower and wider looks good and can usually handle better. Some take it to extremes. In this case, Neil shows off his personality with a classic and timeless look. This E30 is living automotive art.

What is the main assumption about our style of cars by the majority of the car world? That we are hipsters, a fad?
They assume stance is about stretching tires, -12 degrees of camber, and buildings cars that could never perform.
In some cases, they may be true – but there are many difference kinds of stance.
Chris and his dangerously, unassuming RSX is one car you shouldn’t underestimate.

With a modest interior – just a passenger and driver seat, nothing else. Interior carpeting and panels, removed.

Tucking the tire – with a nicely fitted, amount of meat on these wheels.

Oh, and did i mention, its boosted and tuned with E-85?

Introducing, the meanest RSX crusing the streets of Oklahoma City and Midwest City.

The first things that pop out , are the white Rota Grids. 17×9+25 with a 245/40 all around.

The second things that grabs my attention the perfect body and beautiful paint.

Lastly, i love how the lip kit and function form type 2 coilovers bring this RSX much closer to the ground than stock.

The front end looks refined for show or street with the carbon kevlar hood with aero catch pins and foglights.

The only thing the interior really has aside from the gauges, dash, door panels, and seats are the Club RSX strut bar and shift knob. Why have all that extra weight from those annoying backseats and cumbersome rear interior panels?

The engine has only been modified with Turbonetics 60-1 stage 3 turbo kit with custom piping, , Deatschwerk 1300cc injectors, and k pro. Aside from that, Chris kept the motor and transmission completely stock. An engine damper and skunk 2 tie bar have been also added for good measure to add some rigidity and some extra engine flare.

Nicely tucked away, is a cherry bomber exhaust, which gives this beast a gorgeous exhaust tone.

Tucking the wheels safely inside the fenders is a SPC rear camber kit.

And here’s itll look like when this RSX is flying by you with all its 325.99hp and 262 torque, pushing 11 psi.

Neckbreaker – Houa’s Silver Si

Once upon a time, there was a land where nothing interesting ever happened.
Then from out of the shadows, came a Civic. But not just your ordinary Civic, this one was special.
This one had style, class, and attitude. Most importantly, this Civic brakes necks.

Not to be mistaken for the silver surfer, this Civic has some SERIOUS attitude.
Hovering inches…no…centimeters from the ground, id be afraid to be a highway reflector or his oil pan.

Not only is Houa passionate about his car and giving it his own personal style, he’s a great guy and ballsy as hell to ride this low.

Helping him get the perfect amount of camber for this wheel setup at this height, a skunk2 rear camber kit is in place to keep the wheels from hitting the fenders as much as possible while he’s cruising down those torrential Tulsa roads.

After the perfect fitment you’ll notice this aggressive front end, styled appropriately with mugen front lip, quick release bumper, and clear headlights – to give this front end a super clean touch.

Allowing this Civic to hover like this isn’t an airbag setup, it’s a set of Buddyclub N+ coilovers.

From the rear, you’ll noticed it’s been debadged, wingless, a mugen exhaust, and has hfp sideskirts and rear lip.

The shoes on this is a modest but very clean and sporty setup. Rota D2 17×8.5+25 wrapped in 205/40/17 all around. Clean and subtle yet aggressive is where Houa’s Civic can’t go wrong. Setting off the wheels is a set of Drag neo chrome lug nuts.

Thanks a ton for Houa and Cody Kinsch for the amazing pictures. This is an amazingly well done ride and all the small details make it really stand out. Next time ill have to request some interior and engine bay shots for the performance guys out there. You can argue this cars functionality all you want, but it is what it is. A well done daily commute car, modified to express one’s personal style, tastes, and personality. What more can you ask for from an enthusiast?

Eraun’s Baller Bmw

If you remember your childhood, most likely, if you are like the rest of us, you had that favorite car. That certain car you always wanted and aspired to get when you were old enough to drive. Do you ever wonder what the next generation will aspire to have as their daily drivers? Lambo? Ferrari? Way too overpriced and cliche. If I were born five years ago, looking at cars to be my dream car, this would be the one. I can easily say that Eraun Petry’s 2006 BMW 330i is what dreams are made of. With all the bells and whistles and a sick stance to boot, this euro has it all. This 330 you see below is equipped with Sport Package , BMW Performance Exhaust, Mtech Side Skirts & Rear Bumper, and M3 style front bumper – and that’s just the tip of the mod list.

I’m lucky to have met Eraun when i did. Browsing through the stancenation forums, i bumped into him and started talking and found out he had moved to the city from DFW. We soon met up and hung out quite a bit, and this was back when he had a much more modest fitment. Now riding on Varrstoen 2.2.2 in 19×9.5 & 19×10.5, its a perfect mix of aggressive and functional.

Riding at a perfect height for the everyday riding and beating, he’s equipped with H&R Race Springs.

Be on the lookout for this BMW in the future doing big things! That is, if he hasn’t put all of his extra money into his e30.

Eric’s Honda Civic Si

When you normally think of Civics, you’d think of a great economy car and a great aftermarket for parts. When you think of a Civic in the fitment world, normally you’d think of XXR wheels, diamond racings, a bike rack, and stickerbombing.

When you see Eric’s Civic – it has none of that. Supercharged and floating inches above the pavement, it turns heads everywhere it goes. It’s Riding on 17×9.5+15 MB Battles with 205/40 tires all around. That kind of stretch allows for this super close fitment. After we rolled, cut, and pulled his fenders – it still rubs everywhere. Running about 0 camber upfront and 4-5 negative camber in the rear – it fits just right. When pulling in and out of the driveway, his fender tends to fit right between his lip and tire. Check out the to see this thing in action. Pushing 330whp all day!!

Any weak fitment can be upgraded if you have the willpower and the funds to do it.

But, some fender modding was a must to fit such a low offset.

After test fitting, we took it for a test drive – it rubbed everywhere.

Cleaning up the car before the shoot was a must.

Then after a good washing, it was time to go find a spot to do the shoot.

Luckily, we found one pretty quick driving around edmond for just a few minutes.

This Civic is slammed on BC coilovers – pretty close to all the way down.

These JDM foglights and HFP lip really set the car off nicely.

Protect yourself with a bra, bro.

We got a bunch of crazy looks from people on our way back to the house.

Better believe you can hear this blasting down the street with the skunk2 exhaust and headers.

Coffee and Cars OKC – November

It’s that time again for the monthly Coffee and Cars meet here in Oklahoma City. Where else can you find anything from Ferrari’s to Civic’s all in one place? I love the variety in car makes and ages of spectators at these meets. Also, i love the increasing amount of aggressive fitment that has grown ten-fold since i started the blog last summer. Here is just a handful of the cars that came out at this meet. Keep in mind, this meet is held in a public parking lot. Spots are somewhat limited and cars park wherever they can.

And lastly, my favorite local ride has got to be this gorgeous Benz. Hit me up if you want a feature and free decal!
